Tressles

I always expect to score when I go to Tressles.

And usually, I do.

It's the pay off for the long drive (45min) and long walk (20min). It's a trek, but if the waves are good, we're all so busy talking about them, the ride home flies by.

Today, not so much.

My friends Mike and Tomato met up at 7am. We played Chinese fire drill; checking local spots, getting coffee and gas, changing cars. By 8:30am we were on the road to Tressles. We had high hopes - expecting glassy, peaky waves.
From the street it looked good, but by the time we made the walk, the wind and the tide had gotten to it. No peaks, no glass. It was a little mushy and kinda jumbled, but there were waves, so we paddled out at Lowers.
Later we checked Uppers. Mike kept saying, "Shades of J-Bay" Finally, I said, "If that's a shade of J-Bay, it's so far off, it's totally obscured!" It was a real let down.
We got waves, just not the waves of our dreams.

Of course, I got a parting gift; a cut foot on the rocks. Typical Tressles :)
